What are Bunions?
A bunion is a progressive deformity affecting the joint at the base of the big toe, causing it to deviate towards the other toes. This can lead to pain, swelling, and difficulty finding comfortable footwear.
Symptoms May Include
- A prominent bony bump on the side of the foot
- Redness or inflammation
- Joint stiffness
- Overlapping or crowded toes
While bunions cannot be reversed without surgery, conservative treatment can reduce pain and slow progression.
Our Treatment Approach
Every patient is different. Following a thorough assessment, we may recommend a personalised treatment plan that could include:
- Targeted exercise programmes
- Foot orthoses (custom insoles)
- Footwear advice
- Activity modification
- Hands-on treatment
- Load management strategies
- Referral for imaging or specialist care if required
Our goal is not only to relieve your symptoms but to address the underlying causes and help you return to comfortable, confident movement.
